After some hardcore PHP hacking, and basically making my own damn plugin for wordpress... I've determined that it's best to just leave wp the way it is. I'm no security expert, and for some reason no matter what I did, it seemed that putting a rails command like

flash.now[:notice] = 'some message'

in code tags didn't render or came up against the Safe HTML checker.

Nice, although your php code is not very maintainable but it gets the job done.

If i was doing it myself with more than one author i would prolly just do something like (obvously that is rails rather than php) and so any new admins added to the site will not require any template changes or re-deploys to display them differently

I absolutely agree. And although I did plenty of research and determined the W3Schools website was probably most reliable, I would like to see a similar study done with a larger sample size, and of different demographics. (web designers, sports forum viewers, viewers of ebay, facebook etc)

With my recent redesign, I decided that I would skip 800x600 and design for 1024x768 and higher. While there are plenty of people still using 800x600, I think it's safe for a good amount of websites to move away from designing for it.

I guess the best way for people to figure out whether they shouldn't worry about 800x600 anymore or not is to check out statistics for their own website.

Thanks for the mention of how I style my code. It has changed in colour now, though but still pretty much the same.

Nice post anyway. I like to see the different variations in code formatting. :)
